Workshops and Corporate Retreats
The Carriage House at Cliveden is a popular, spacious location suitable for workshops, corporate retreats, lectures, meetings, and networking events. The historic barn converted into a contemporary presentation room retains its authentic character; the sliding farm doors, exposed stone walls and open wood beam ceiling add to the aesthetically pleasing experience that guests have while visiting.
The room has three projection screens and dim lighting available. Cliveden can provide seating for a limited number of guests. Please inquire for more details.
Private Functions, Family and Friend Events
The Carriage House seating capacity is suitable for 80 guests, and additional seating can be arranged on the grounds under a tent during the warm weather seasons. Cliveden welcomes music, dancing, games, and other creative entertainment. Decorations are permitted, although must conform to the guidelines outline in the attached document below.
Guests have enjoyed a variety of special events at Cliveden, including anniversaries, bridal and baby showers, graduation parties, birthday parties, Bar and Bat Mitzvah, book signings, and more!
Formal Affairs in the Museum
As an addition to a Carriage House rental, the historic Chew family mansion, Cliveden, is now available for hosting formal affairs. Cliveden remains one the most well preserved house museums in the country, maintaining for centuries many of the Chew family’s decorative arts and valuable furniture. Although the museum will not accommodate a seated dinner event, hors d’oeuvres and clear beverages (champagne, white wine and other clear spirits) may be served to mingling guests.
Preservation of the collections housed in the Cliveden museum is paramount to our mission, and therefore Cliveden’s staff reserves the right to evaluate the suitability of all event proposals. The recommended capacity for the museum is 20 guests at a time. Guided tours are available upon request.
